Relocated Singapore ‘Crusher’ refurbished

In the 1940s, Winstone Aggregates rescued a rock crusher from Singapore just before the Japanese invasion – they intended to use and install it at their quarry in Mt Wellington, Auckland. Aptly named the Singapore ‘crusher’, Gray & Watts were involved in its refurbishment as well as its later installation at Whenuapai Airbase, where it was used to crush metal for the construction of the runways.
