Gavin Cormack joins the practice

Gavin graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Canterbury in 1963 and immediately joined the practice. In 1968, he become a principal of the practice and later he would become Executive Chair.


Gavin would contribute some 40 years to Beca during which he was involved in the design of major engineering projects around the world. They include Otira Viaduct, Mangaweka railway bridge, five major bridges on the Malaysian East West Highway, as well as Auckland’s Sky City and Sky Tower.
