Rosebank-Patiki Interchange

Beca was engaged to provide the design and construction observation/management of a new motorway interchange on Auckland’s north-western motorway. The interchange consisted of four ramps, three of which are combined bridge/fill embankment structures, which extend into a sensitive marine reserve area. The bridges are reinforced concrete I-beam sections with multiple spans up to 42 m in span length. The total length of the bridge is 725 m.

Construction of the embankments was subject to stringent environmental control and required the use of lightweight fill to limit post-construction settlements.
