Britomart Transport Centre

Britomart is Auckland City’s integrated transport interchange, connecting the region’s rail, bus and ferry services. It remains the major gateway for access between the heart of the CBD and regional Auckland as well as the wider North Island rail services.

Auckland City Council engaged Beca to provide planning, geotechnical support and full project management services. The partnering agreement between consultants, the contractor and the client was a major contributor to the project opening on time and within budget. It was also the first partnering arrangement with the Department of Labour Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) division on a New Zealand project. This project set a new NZ industry safety record of 427 days/900,000 man hours free of Lost Time Injury.
