Vanuatu Tourism Infrastructure Project

Vanuatu is one of the most popular cruise destinations in the Pacific and, as a result of the Vanuatu Tourism Infrastructure Project, cruise ship visitors now arrive at rejuvenated seafront and portside precincts full of amenities for tourists and locals alike to enjoy.

Beca’s work supported the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) on the project; enhancing urban design and public amenities, emphasising the quality of products and services, and further developing infrastructure in two of Vanuatu’s key tourist precincts. This was done while taking into consideration the preservation of public spaces and access, as well as improving coastal resilience of the waterfront and incorporating climate change adaption measures in the design. Engagement with the community and project stakeholders was critical to the project’s success.
